CECO honors Bill Arrant and Art Black for 50 years of service to the gas compression industry.

HOUSTON, TEXAS: April 9, 2009 – Two long-time employees of Compressor Engineering Corporation (CECO) celebrated 50 years of service to the compressor industry with a dinner and reception in Ruston, Louisiana on Saturday, April 4th.

Bill Arrant, Senior Engineering Consultant, and Art Black, retired Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering for CECO, were honored by their customers and friends from CECO.

Arrant joined CECO as a parts salesman in 1978, and has worked servicing compressors and installing valves, hydraulic pushrods, fuel gas modulators and actuators.  Arrant is certified to perform major reciprocating compressor repairs and has served as CECO’s principal consulting specialist and chief troubleshooter for field repair issues.  Among Arrant’s many customers are Tennessee Gas, Texas Gas, El Paso and Southern Natural Gas.

Black grew up in southern New York and graduated from St. Bonaventure.  He began his career at Dresser-Clark in the Engineering and Compressor Division, and in 1963, Black joined Ingersoll- Rand as a Design Engineer.  Black oversaw the design of all new products for engines and compressors as a Master Design Engineer.

At CECO from 1979 through 2002, Black was responsible for new product design, development and improvements, as well as the manufacture of all new products.  His designs for poppet valves and unloading equipment, among other products, set the bar for excellence in the marketplace.

Arrant and his wife Glenda live in Ruston, La.  They have two children, Chuck and Jan, and four grandchildren.

Art and Jeannette Black now live in the Hill Country of Texas.  They have three boys, Chris, Dan and Doug, and three grandchildren.
