Governor Bobby Jindal Participates in Dedication of CECO’s New Facility in Walker, Louisiana

Jindal Praises Business’s Confidence in Louisiana

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HOUSTON, TEXAS. February 12, 2009 – Governor Bobby Jindal joined Compressor Engineering Corporation (CECO) President Richard Hotze and Mayor Bobby Font Jr. of Walker, Louisiana, to dedicate CECO’s new facilities in the Livingston Industrial Park in Walker. The 44,000 square-foot facility houses offices, a parts warehouse, a machine shop and an equipment staging area. Walker is a thriving community a few miles outside of Baton Rouge in Livingston Parish.

We have laid the groundwork for long-term economic success and a brighter future for our state. Today’s investment by CECO is another example of the many companies that are placing their confidence in Louisiana,” Governor Jindal said at ceremonies on February 10, 2009.  Other officials from the Louisiana Development Council also attended.  “We're going to continue to work hard out-performing the national economy and today is a great example of that,” Jindal said.

The new facilities will enhance CECO’s production and repair services in capability and volume, offering a range of expert machining and grinding capabilities.  The plant also runs one of the largest thread-rolling machines in Louisiana. The facility will manufacture and/or repair packing cases, compressor valves, pistons, rods, cylinders, liners, pump shafts and many other compressor and engine parts.

These new facilities position CECO and CECO Pipeline Services to better serve our Louisiana and Mississippi customers, from Acadiana and Greater New Orleans to North Louisiana, from the Mississippi Delta to the Pine Belt and back offshore,” said Hotze. “We see big potential for this facility in the future,” Hotze said.

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Houston, CECO is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of engine and compressor replacement parts and serves gas pipelines, gathering and processing companies, and petrochemical, industrial and refrigeration plants worldwide. CECO also has offices in Odessa and Dallas, Texas.

CECO Pipeline Services, also headquartered in Houston, provides new pipeline construction and a variety of maintenance services to pipeline operators, including pipeline integrity work, pipe fabrication, coating applications, corrosion services, erosion control, grounds maintenance, compliance work and mechanical services. CECO Pipeline Services, with additional facilities in Irondale, Alabama and Wichita, Kansas, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Compressor Engineering Corporation.  Walker will be the fourth CECO Pipeline Services office to open in five years.
