CECO and CECO Pipeline Services open new and expanded facility in Walker, Louisiana

HOUSTON, TEXAS. January 15, 2009 – Compressor Engineering Corporation (CECO) and CECO Pipeline Services have expanded their production, repair and pipeline construction operations with 44,000 square feet of new facilities in Walker, Louisiana, including offices, a parts warehouse, machine shop and equipment staging area.

Walker, Louisiana is a thriving community in Livingston Parish, located outside of Baton Rouge and just west of New Orleans.

“These new facilities position CECO and CECO Pipeline Services to embrace and serve our Louisiana and Mississippi customers, from Acadiana and Greater New Orleans to North Louisiana, from the Mississippi Delta to the Pine Belt and back offshore.  We are willing, eager and able to serve our customers with our high-quality products and services and our great record of safety and competence,” said Richard Hotze, President of CECO.

The new expansive machine shop houses a Giddings and Lewis Horizontal mill, radial arm drills, a large surface grinder, Tesker thread roller capable of rolling 5” thread, 48-inch diameter lapping tables, a wide range of lathes, cylindrical grinder and super-finishing capabilities, and several overhead crane systems.

The warehouse will include a stock of compressor and engine replacement parts for Ingersoll-Rand®, Joy®, Dresser-Rand®, Clark®, Cameron® (Cooper®), Worthington®, Chicago Pneumatic®, Gardner Denver®, Ariel®, White Superior®, Ajax®, and Knox Western®. CECO representatives will be available to ship parts to the petrochemical, gas transmission, process, refrigeration and air compressor industries.

The Walker facility is midway between the Irondale, Alabama and Houston, Texas offices of CECO Pipeline Services, a location which will enable the company to provide a quick response to support its eastern Louisiana and western Mississippi pipeline customers. Walker will be the fourth CECO Pipeline Services office to open in five years.

With the addition of the Walker location, CECO’s production and repair services will be enhanced in capability and volume.  The facility will manufacture and/or repair packing cases, compressor valves, pistons, rods, cylinders, liners, pump shafts and many other compressor and engine parts.
