Power Piston Rings
Tough under pressure , guaranteed

Although simple in appearance, the power piston ring has demands placed on it unlike any other engine component. It must be tight enough to prevent combustion blowby into the crankcase and to prevent oil from entering the combustion chamber. However, it must be loose enough to allow a film of oil to form on the cylinder wall to prevent wear. All this while withstanding incredible punishment from a controlled explosion that creates pressures up to 850 psi and temperatures exceeding 1800° F. With demands like this it is easy to see why so many users want Pedrick rings in their engines!

Pedrick ring sets are designed to match the OEM basic sets, but offer additional state-of-the-art features and quality enhancements.

Top Compression Rings: Barrel Faced
We've selected barrel faced top rings as our standard since top rings are subjected to the most punishment. Barrel faced rings offer better scuff resistance, long life and faster break-in. Standard rings are either cast iron or ductile iron. Optional materials include hard chromium plating, Siltex filled grooves and bronze insert designs for improved wear/scuff resistance.

Intermediate Rings: Tapered Face
For over fifty years, taper faced rings have been the hallmark of Pedrick . The tapered face helps the ring to seat faster during the initial break-in. Taper faced intermediate compression rings serve a dual purpose: controlling and metering lube oil and sealing off combustion gases. One important feature of Pedrick intermediate rings is the orientation groove which permanently marks the proper installation direction.

Oil Rings: Conformable
The oil ring is, in many ways, the most critical ring. It must give maximum oil control while metering just the proper amount of oil to prevent excessive wear or scuffing. Pedrick oil rings use a coil spring expander for easy installation and uniform expansion. The expander gives the proper, uniform tension throughout its long engine life. The cast iron portion of the oil ring assembly features maximum oil drainage and correct ring unit pressure.

Why Buy Pedrick Piston Rings?
Simple. You're not only buying a set of rings, you're getting the security and peace of mind that comes from dealing with a company with over fifty years of experience. Before a ring can bear the Pedrick name, it must pass our exhaustive quality control process. Each ring is inspected on a light table to check tightness. Special ring gauges are used to ensure proper end gap and oil ring unit pressure.
